Inês Sofia Luís dos Santos received her MSc in Micro and Nanotechnology Engineering from School of Science and Technology,
NOVA University Lisbon, in January 2022. Her master thesis titled "Self-aligned and Sub-µm Oxide TFTs: TCAD simulation and
Fabrication" was developed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Pedro Barquinha and co-supervision of Prof. Dr. João Goes. Since
April 2022, she has worked as a Research Fellow at CENIMAT|i3N and CEMOP/UNINOVA, under the SeaSenseX project (MACAU/0002/2019).
Her work focused on optimizing thin-film deposition and photolithography processes to ensure the best uniformity, reproducibility,
and electrical performance of thin-film transistors with various configurations. This work has led her to present a poster
at the VIII Anual Meeting i3N conference. During this fellowship, she also oversaw one master's student, who focused on establishing
a nanoimprint lithography process. Additionally, she was part of the jury for one BSc final project, where the student focused
on the optimization of reactive-ion etching processes.
During her BSc, she gained research experience, mainly with her internship on "Project and Optimization of Liquid Crystal
Display Cells", supervised by Prof. Dr. Joana Vaz Pinto and Prof. Dr. Rita Branquinho. She was also involved in the organizing
committee for JORTEC DCM (technological journeys for the Materials Science Department), in 2019. In that same year, she was
a monitor at NOVA STEAM Academy Summer School. She also volunteered at EXPO FCT (science fair), from 2017 to 2019.
She was awarded Best Student of the Year in Micro and Nanotechnology Engineering in the 2020/21 school year, referring to
the last year of her MSc.
