Short Biography

Amjid Rafique completed his Doctor of Philosophy in 2019/03/14 at Politecnico di Torino, Magister (2nd cycle) in 2015/10/23
at Politecnico di Torino, Magister (2nd cycle) in 2013/09/11 at Quaid-i-Azam University and Bachelor (1st cycle) in 2008/01/13
at National Textile University. He is a Postdoc fellow in Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia
in Material Science and technology department. He has Published 7 articles in journals with a total impact factor of around
65 and has citation count of 162 with h-index 4. He has received awards and/or honors and has participates and/or participated
as Post-doc Fellow in 2 project(s) and Principal investigator in 1 project(s).
Amjid Rafique is a postdoc researcher at CENIMAT|I3N - NOVA School of Science and Technology. His research is mainly focused
on the development of innovative smart textiles based on biocompatible polymers with multifunctional properties envisaging
their application in energy conversion systems and biomedical applications. Currently, he is the working on a project All-FIBRE:
All-Fibre Integrated Photovoltaic Storage Device for e-Textiles (PTDC/CTM-CTM/1571/2020) funded through national funds by
Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. During the last years, he has published work and mentored several master theses in
the field of cellulose-based bio-supercapacitors, blow-spun separators, dye sensitized and organic solar cells.
His main interests are in the area(s) of Engineering and Technology with emphasis on Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology
especially in Energy storage materials, flexible electronics, solar cells, wearable sensors and Nano-fabrications exploiting
bio-compatible green substrate e.g., cellulose based materials, silk fibers etc.
