SusMatEner is a Marie Curie Doctoral Network funded by the HORIZON EUROPE programme.

We offer 15 PhD positions in materials science, for projects starting in autumn 2025. CENIMAT|i3N is involved in the supervision of 5 PhD theses:

• PhD1: Hybrid highly conducting transparent perovskite-halide perovskite solar cells.
• PhD3: Stable and transparent metallic nanowire-based nanocomposites for thermal and solar energy applications.
• PhD5: Integrating criticality and circularity assessment into the Life Cycle Analysis used for developing sustainable Materials-by-Design for renewable energy.
• PhD11: Photonic nano-structuring for solar energy harvesting.
• PhD12: New heterostructures for self-powered UV photodetection and power electronic.

Application deadline is 30th of April.

The PhD candidates, all in international co-supervision and with an industry partner, will work on new and optimised materials for various applications in renewable energy. The guiding principle is ‘materials-by-design’, achieved by close collaboration between experimentalists d experts in machine learning and life cycle analysis.
