The Medal of Scientific Merit is intended to reward national or foreign individuals who, for their high professional qualities and fulfillment of duty, have made a valuable contribution to the development of science or scientific culture in Portugal.
The award was received by Professor José Fernando Mendes, vice-coordinator of i3N, who was present at the meeting.
